Jeep Wrangler 4 Wheel Drive Not Engaging

A common issue with the yj jeeps is a failure in the automatic vacuum system that locks and unlocks the hubs when going in and out of 4 wheel drive. Im not sure but when i first bought it the 4 wheel. I need some help i have 1987 jeep wrangler and i took it offroad for the first time when i engaged it in 4 wheel low the front wheels wouldn t engage.

Once that is accomplished put the jeep back into gear and slide the transfer case handle up into 2 high. Truth is the factory linkages are prone to working themselves loose or breaking completely. It s more common if you often engage 4h and often go wheeling. In high range both rear wheel turn but neither front wheel will turn.

Indicator light on dash 4 wheel drive is not on.
